Own Work

These pages are a vehicle for some of my own creative work. In my late teens I wanted to be a film-maker (see page on 'my films' and also the gallery of images) but it didn't work out. I then wrote a novel (circa 1990) which was not good enough for publication. I then channelled my creative energies into 'The Filmgoer's Guide to God' published in 2004, and in 2006 tried my hand at writing short stories - the two here have a film theme ('Hawks Story' and 'Full Circle'). I also dabble in verse.

In 2008, I started writing a screenplay on William Tyndale (died at the stake 1536), the first man to translate the New Testament into English from the original Greek, rather than from the Latin of the Vulgate. He had also begun to work on translating the Old Testament into English from the Hebrew. He is an essential part of the story of the King James Version of the Bible. The screenplay then became a play. You can read it here by downloading a pdf.

In 2009 I started a novel, and spent a lot of time on it in 2010. It needs further work, so it's not ready yet - nor do I have a publisher. It's called 'The Strange Case of the Dangerous Brothers'.

I also dabble in photography and have started a page of images.
